Because I'm a girl.

After years of procrastinating.. I have finally signed up for the "I'm a girl" campaign which basically focuses their energy to helping out girls around the world and making people aware of poverty going on in this world. If you haven't all noticed all bloggers on this site are ladies and privileged ones at that. I'm using this blog as an outlet to make people aware of all the things going in this world and this is just one of my ways to contribute to the community.. Look out for posts and ideas that I may have. To join .. feel free to sign up at http://plancanada.ca/Page.aspx?pid=2270

I'm a lady - Got my mind up.

Now won't you run and tell your boyfriend
Tell him don't hold his breath for me
I got some money I've been saving
some hearts that I've been breaking
I know one day..they goin' make a martyr out of me.

On the Come Up...

Sooo one boring day I was scrolling through my bbm list and stumbled upon my homeboy Mannie's DP. It was of an old homeless dude wearing a cool shirt that I liked. I asked him about the shirt and he told me about Guilty Victims. Guilty Victims is a crew consisting of 4 dudes (Mannie, Emmanuel a.k.a 2 Bills, Adrian a.k.a Custom the Genius, and Noel a.k.a Nephew). So what's their mission or purpose right? They want to network and push out a brand that is influenced buy fashion, hip hop, music, and street art sub-culture with an intent to be an upcoming huge underground movement; and they do it all for the love of fashion, music, and art. Pretty dope huh?

They've recently done a photoshoot with 2 of their most popular prints. I asked Mannie about it and he had this to say:

"Dead Broke Clothing X Guilty Victim showcases its 2010 summer collection that features Charles Hankins and the beautiful Rose Flor M Lopez. The lookbook features two graphic tees that represent the culture and roots of Africa."

Here are just a few shots from the shoot peeps!

Want one? They're 25 a pop. && in case you're wondering T.I.A stands for "This Is Africa".
I got mine...thanks for the shirt Mannie!
