Now Introducing: Cream of Nature Argan Oil Line.

This couldn't have come at a better time. So remember I did a post about the ever so popular argan oil infused in the Moroccan Oil products and how expensive it is? Well now Cream of Nature has released a new line containing certified organic argan oil for a very affordable price apparently. The new line includes: an Intensive Conditioning Treatment, Replenishing Sheen Spray, Gloss & Shine Polisher and Gloss & Shine Mist.

There have already been rave reviews about the Intensive Conditioning Treatment on hair forums across the net. It's being said that it gives great slip (comb glides through strands easily), shine and softness even after it has been rinsed out. The conditioner is available in packets at the moment for about 1.50-2.00 a pack. Unfortunately it isn't available in a bottle at the moment, but I'm sure with all this hype it will be available soon!

These products are available online and in some local beauty supply stores. I haven't checked my local beauty supply store yet but I will soon!

Hair Topic Request: Moroccan Oil.

Okay so I was at the beauty supply store today and I ran into a friend that requested a post on Moroccan Oil. I've been a little interested in the oil myself so I did some research. Shout out to Ameena! This is my first request; yaaaaaaaaaay =)

There's been some hype in the beauty world about Moroccan oil and here's the deal. It's formulated by the company "MOROCCANOIL®", and it's basically a combination of Argan oil and other ingredients. These are the exact ingredients in case you're interested:Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone, Butylphenyl, MethylPropional, Argania Spinoza Kernal Oil (Aragan Oil), Linseed (Linum Usitatissimum) Extract, Fragrance Supplement, D&C Yellow-11, D&C Red-17, Coumarin, Benzyl Benzoate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone

So what is Argan oil exactly? It's one of the rarest oils in the world and it comes from the kernels of the Argan tree; this oil is unique to Morocco. So just to be clear, Moroccan Oil is a formulated by a company, meaning it's not a pure essential oil. The main ingredient is Argan oil. What's the claim to fame? MOROCCANOIL®claims their oil restores the elasticity in your hair, infuses shine, protects from environmental factors (i.e. wind, sun damage, etc.), and reduces drying time. This sounds lovely but I decided to read about it in a few reviews and forums to get a general sense of the public opinion. Quite honestly, a lot of people love it. Most seem to agree that it reduces drying time and that it makes the hair extremely soft. The thing about this product is, it apparently isn't greasy at all and doesn't build up on the hair like most oils can. The company also makes different products with the oil such as treatments, moisturizers, shampoos, conditioners, etc.

Here are the negatives. It's quite pricey. It's about $40.00 for just 100ml. However, I've also read that a little goes a long way so you're not going to be pouring it all over the place. Also, some people have gone straight for the gold and bought pure Argan oil. The thing is, it's extremely hard to find and pricey since it's so rare. It also can cause some people to breakout if it is used on the skin.

My personal thoughts? I've never used the oil before but I say it's worth a shot to try it out. However, I don't know how reasonable it is to spend the money on a product that you may not plan to use forever. Then again it may last really long and replace other oils you may have. In case you want to try it out, this product is sold in many salons across Canada. I have seen it myself in Folino Hair Salon located in Yorkdale Mall. It's right beside the Rogers near the subway entrance. Hopefully one day I get to try it and maybe I'll do a review.
