#ImJustSaying

So clearly I have a serious case of insomnia on my hands =S I went to sleep around 10pm and found myself up at 2am and once again at 4am. This sleeping pattern is doing me no justice, especially when I have to go to work. I have tried ABSOLUTELY everything. No music when I sleep anymore, phone is off. EVERYTHING. I just don't get it =( I JUST WANT AT LEAST SIX HOURS STRAIGHT OF SLEEP!!!!! IS THAT SO HARD TO ASK! Anyways, moving along, is it just me or no one blogs about #random (Yes, I used a "hashtag" - Life of a Twitter addict) things anymore. Its, clothes, clothes, clothes, music videos, clothes, clothes. Yes, I know we have music videos and CLOTHES on our blog but at times I feel like people will go to JustJared.Com, read his latest post and create a summarized version on their blog and post it #IMJUSTSAYING! "Basically, I'm Saying," *Busy Signal Voice* I don't feel like there is anymore originality in Blogs anymore. I miss reading about people's thoughts, opinions and daily lives. Not Jared's.
Anyways, before I go attempt to SLEEP once again so I could wake up at 9am and give the first Telus Mobility Customer Service Rep SHIT (Phone is $444 - Last bill combined w/. current bill - I paid over two bills #FuckYOUTELUS) I would like to say

Men are The New Woman & Insecurity KILLS!

BHM - The Spek-Won Experience.

In honor of Black History Month - I thought to myself why not blog about Toronto's very own rapper Spek-Won.( you know - before he blows up and forgets about the little people). If you've been living under a rock - we had his song "hip-life" playing in our little player - this is not someone to be slept on. This rexdale rapper is breaking barriers, setting trends and educating the world on the content of "Hip-life" & his Ghanaian heritage. Spek-Won started rapping at the age of nine, the rappers who influence this groundbreaking artist are Nas & Wu-Tang Clan. Below are a couple of questions I asked the upcoming rapper.

May:You have an old school rap vibe (which I lovee) in a society like today - how do keep that flow in tact?

Spek:Simple. I don't listen to anything new. I'd say 90% of the songs in my ipod are from before the year 2000. I don't get inspired by other artists now as often as I used to. Now a days I get more inspired my movies, books,or even speeches.

May:Do you think will be hard to grab the attention of people with your flow?

Spek: Naw not at all. Funny thing is a lot of the younger cats tell me that they think my style is new and fresh, when really it's just a style from before there time that's updated and translated.

May: Whats your latest cd or mixtape out and what are you working on and who have you worked with and who would you like to work with?

Spek:Right now I've got the Preemo Donna mix tape out and "Hip Life" is making noise all over the place. The next joint that I'm working on is called MG&R (Machine Gunz & Rozes), and it's CRAZY! I love what the city is saying right now. I'm surrounded by so much talent that I don't need to look anywhere else. I'm just working with my camp and associates like Erik Flowchild, Wolf J, Lord Quest, Rich Kidd, Tona, The OBGMs. Tdot is sayin it right now really.

Such a humble dude - if you haven't checked out any of his music check out him out on the links below

The Moon & The Sky

My favorite song off the "Solider of Love" Album. Round of Applause to Sade for having her single "Soldier of Love" as #1 on the charts. Ten years hiatus and she's still killing 'em. #BADBITCH

I'm a FREAK bitch Baby!

If you didn't know already, May, Cocoa & I are totally "Gaga" for Lady Gaga. Her crazy costumes and over the top performances are not what has our hearts. It's her voice that has captured us. Under all the make-up, coutoure, wigs and alien on-stage persona is a NY girl that can sing. In her first album, "The Fame," I don't think a lot of people got to see that but in "Fame Monster," you definitely do. Here's Lady Gaga performing "Telephone" in acoustic & "Dance In the Dark" dedicated to her friend, the late Alexander McQueen:

She also has a video for "Telephone" Coming out VERY SOON! I cannot wait for it. Going by the screenshots I have seen of the video with hair shaped as a telephone in her "doo," I know it is going to be another crazy-ass video.

Fashion Ish: Stripes on the Rise

Stripes On the Rise.
Unless you haven't been to the malls lately you've probably noticed that there's been a frenzy
on stripes. They're pretty much everywhere. The collage above has some pieces
from Mango, American Apparel, and the new Sonia Rykiel line
for H&M. =)

Some other ish that caught my eye...

P.S. Feel free to cop me anything in here okay? I won't mind.
